Liberty Alley has always been part of the park and one of the main streets of Plungė. In the XIX century the Alley was planted with double rows of linden trees. During the times of saristic Russia the Alley was renamed as Boulevard street, but once Lithuania got the independency, the alley was named as Liberty Alley, however not for a very long time, because the Soviet times came and only in 1992 the alley's name was recovered as Liberty Alley.
