The dukes Oginskiai never had their own children, however they always looked after poor families kids. 

In the orphanage kids learnt how to read, write and always were fed. There worked nuns in the orphanage. 

In 1905 after the Lithuanian press ban was cancelled, Oginskiene established Lithuanian school in the orphanage. 

Even, during the First World War the school was still operating, however after the war it was rebuilt and converted into dairy.
